Vantaggi
- Working from home was nice to have, because their building was empty and dark mostly. They're moving to a new building though. - Big company, so they are connected to a lot of big international firms in different industries. - Facilitation. They have plenty of resources to facilitate you with what you need to get working. - If you fit in, good for you. You might stay there for a long time.
Svantaggi
- Bureaucracy. It was so over the top. I was told by the interviewer it was all about who you know and not what you know with co-workers saying the same thing. This did not sit well with me. - Management. Having had multiple managers was not an experience I will look forward to again. Three managers! - No Growth. A lot of disregard to growth as there is bully tactics from management and then some from peers to keep you in place doing the same thing for 5+ years, or until AI can do it. (CEO's words) - Poor Communication. Calls to our India team made me feel like our Royal Oak team was uncultured, and treated them second class over Skype. They are riddled with excuses to maintain a clean corporate image. - Racist Assumptions. Most employees I've encountered are quick to assume everything about you from race, class and gender preferences. I got an email from higher ups about wearing a sombrero in a Cinco de Mayo cocktail party. The person thought I was Hindu, but I'm Mexican! - He then he apologized and called himself a dumb white guy, but I wish I'd assumed that first! :) - Barely anyone knew each other there after supposedly working 5 years together! Not good culture in my opinion. I had to leave when I could, because I had a much better opportunity that felt like a breath of fresh air. I needed to get this out my chest.
