For grown-ups who dont want to, or are too mature to cry over work matters, you will NOT get what you're asking for, and resent the people that do. -If you can't perform your job well, dont worry, you wont be fired! You will be promoted!! *there are a few exceptions to this, but that's usually if people dont like you. - the vents have not been cleaned out in AAAAAGES. turning on the a/c or fans starts a symphony of sickness. The beat begins with the sneezers, and the coughers add the harmony. This could be a "pro" for alternative music lovers! - You remember that movie "office space"? Well, here you will also have a number of bosses. Don't worry, they seldom talk to you about your mistakes (or anything for that matter) unless its gone on to the point where they've been talked to. - They dont supply you with paper or pens. You can ask, you may get a legal pad, but you'll have to answer a few questions first on why you need it. Dont even think of asking for tape, that requires 2 signatures, a lie detector test, and a sponsor. Ok, i exaggerate, but you get the point. - the open door policy is more like a revolving door. HR will address your problem if you whine enough, and they wont do anything about it. They have you sit in their office to talk, repeat some of what you said, apologize, and walk you out the door.. yet nothing ever changes. -You have to DRESS UP for this job. You're paid average. The building is located across from bars and an assisted living community (well known for the colorful unstable people that spill out from it), and had a booming nightclub underneath at some point and yet jeans are unacceptable, (except for casual fridays and weekends). The sad thing is, I havent even scratched the surface.
