Vantaggi
The patients and coworkers were wonderful
Svantaggi
I worked for Accent Care for several years and consistently demonstrated reliability, flexibility, and commitment to my patients and the organization. I took pride in my work and maintained strong relationships with both patients and colleagues.
Over time, however, the working conditions became increasingly difficult. As a registered nurse, many of my visits were reassigned to LPNs, which significantly reduced my workload and, ultimately, my income. Because we were paid per point, there were frequent days when there were not enough points available to meet a sustainable income. This often forced staff to use PTO simply to make up for low census, which should not be necessary for full-time employees.
As a result, I had to take on a second job just to meet basic financial obligations. This created unnecessary stress and is not a reflection of a stable or supportive work environment.
Additionally, communication from management was lacking. Concerns about scheduling, workload distribution, and financial instability were not adequately addressed. There was little transparency and minimal effort to support staff during these challenges.
While I value the experience I gained and the patients I cared for, I believe there are significant opportunities for improvement in staff support, communication, and fair distribution of visits. A more balanced and transparent system would greatly benefit both employees and patient care outcomes. When a healthcare company is owned by a private equity that is making hundreds of millions of dollars while the staff is underpaid it's a travesty.
