Lack of leadership. They’d rather put management on projects for automating order entry than actually guiding the department. There’s very little communication and what there is is out of touch, because they don’t promote from within, so managers have no clue what we actually do. The workload has tripled and people keep leaving because they say they bring on temps to hire, then make them sit in limbo for 8-12 months, rather than the advertised 6. Overtime is essentially required just to keep up, even for the veteran CSRs.
