If you expect meritocracy look else where. The upper management/executive committee just gives opportunities (responsibilities, promotions, chances to attend events, cool offsites) to people that they like. Only YES men and women! They claim to have diversity, but actually it's all based on likability and fit in their yes-man culture. There are many examples of people that had such poor technical skills, but were promoted every 6 months up to high management positions, and very skilled and productive people that wouldn't be promoted in 2 years. They give the impression to be growing the team, but actually, in terms of talent, they just boost the bad people, and loose the good ones. Not to speak about the product, where the constant rush eats every chance of building good software. If you are mediocre apply! If you are talented, run away.
