If you know what’s good for your stay away from this hellhole. Anyone that works at ARB will tell you the lies that are sold from the “good reviews” left on this page. And there’s not a lie told in the honest bad reviews left. I unfortunately was one of the members of staff who fell for the good reviews. And I only wish I could go back in time for the sake of my own health. There is a complete lack of of support for staff but rife in overworking staff members for the powertrip it provides management and higher ups. The bank introduced some mental health aiders which were possibly just done for the sake of it, as nothing else was done to support staff with any concerns that have been raised. There is a total lack of job security as redundancies are constantly introduced left right and centre. With no remorse or support given. There was an article released on 5 pillars about how the plan is secretly planning to shut down retail to focus on commercial. Everything that has happend is in line with this. No job in retail is secure as the executives main focus has been on their income from the commercial aspect of the bank. Women are treated like objects and funnily enough, the world has advanced with its pay but al rayan bank still has a gender pay gap. Please ask why they refuse to disclose their salary information and some (favourite) staff members are given discretionary pay rises, whilst others are reprimanded, ALL whilst doing more work. All executives are male that have gotten their positions through friends they had and not the experience they offered. It was only with the previous CEO Peter that females were even added to the board of directors! There are barely any women in management roles. This bank is made for men to work in, and it’s all about who you know and not what you know. HR are kept there for the sake of it as grievances are swept under the rug to protect the male interest of long standing staff members of the bank. It is rare for something to actually be done on the back of grievances which means this culture of bullying feels makes the bullies feel impenetrable. HR do not protect staff members who have made grievances, but rather enable management to proceed with their wrong doings. There are so many issues that are just swept under the rug as there would be so much legal scrutiny if matters were disclosed. Not only on the level of an employer but also the FCA guidelines they don’t follow until they are under scrutiny by the FCA. This is when the bank decides to pull departments and staff out of thin air to try and seem like everything has been fine and smooth running all along. Favouritism is clearly and shamelessly given to some staff members when other staff members in the same situation are reprimanded for it. There is no professionalism as private matters are discussed like gossip, especially between management and staff. There is no privacy. Rather there is sexism, racism, religious discrimination etc. You name something bad, this place has it. I have been shocked with some of the comments I have heard towards women and others within this place. Management sit there writing reviews themselves to make it seem like working for this place isn’t that bad, but ask yourself, why on earth is staff turnover so high. Why does every single member of staff run for the hills once they realise the culture that has been imbedded within the bank. You’ll find people who have been there for more than 4-5 years have only been there because the culture of the bank has been on their side. Enabling their horrid behaviour. I’ve seen staff members reduced to tears and then gas lighted. It seems as if, if ARB accepts management is in the wrong, they would have to admit to their own failures, so they do everything they can to cover up what’s going on. Nothing about this bank’s behaviour is shariah compliant. Some managers are avid micromanagers, it’s shocking. Calling and messaging every 5 seconds. Give it a rest! There’s such a lack of career progression as most career pathways are facing redundancies. The fear culture needs to be changed. They’d rather argue to belittle you than to accept their own wrong doings. A lot of the time, you’re spoken to worse than an animal. Parents haven’t even been properly supported in some departments since COVID.
