Vantaggi
Worked at Arcadis for over 5 years and not a whole lot to say here. Working remotely (from home) from time to time is generally acceptable depending on your supervisor. It's a good place to get your foot in the door and get some experience if you are early on in your career.
Svantaggi
Note this is specific to the Phoenix office. Experiences vary widely from office to office. For starters, pay is generally much lower compared to industry standards. Advancement is painfully slow. It was very frustrating to watch colleagues in other offices advance much faster. This was a common complaint of all junior technical staff in the office and not just me. Billable hours is really the only thing that seemed to matter. Having to walk a line between not getting yelled at by project managers for billing to projects and yet still hitting your billable hour goal as to not get yelled at by your supervisor was damn near impossible. Expect long hours, nights and weekends included, and no work life balance. I was told early on that it was an expectation that you work on vacations and PTO. Burnout happens very quickly and office moral for junior staff is extremely low. I've watched other engineers leave, offering advice management to recognize achievements of their employees but it fell on deaf ears. Spot bonuses were used to incentivize hard work but never came through. It was like a carrot on a string. Again, it was frustrating watching staff from other offices receive recognition for the same and often times less effort. Just a miserable place work.
