AFPLS cares about their patrons and the services provided through the library. Good ideas from librarians and staff. Current books and trends are starting to be covered (STEAM, technology, etc.) Librarian I position employees are hardworking and good faces for the system.
Svantaggi
No division of jobs, poor middle management, no succession planning, no accountability. Minimal follow through on ideas. There are too many hands in the pot for the functioning of the library. Board of Trustees, Commissioners, Foundation, and none of them have a forward thinking mindset. They all still thinks books and circulation are "the most important." Do not understand need of updated technology, makerspaces, teen spaces, etc.
