Overall positive work environment, generally the management team is supportive, lots of training opportunities. Food is available in the staff canteen for your breaks and usually, it is adequate - lots of people complain about this food but it is miles better than the majority of workplaces. The hotel itself is beautiful and most people working here seem to love it.

There is a lot of obvious favouritism within the teams - typically it does seem to be those that work hardest get the most favour, however, if you are disliked by your manager for personal reasons, no matter how hard you work, you will not be rewarded. I have seen a lot of valued and well-respected members of the teams overlooked by management and as a result, they have left the company. It is a real shame as there are lots of schemes in place for recognising and rewarding good employees - it does feel like they have good intentions, managing high end hospitality teams is a difficult job.
