Not as much work was available as initially thought

I have been at Axian for around 12 months. I left my last company because I was afraid my skills were growing stale and felt with the work variety offered by Axian, I'd have many chances to grow new skills, both technically and professionally. The benefits, pay, training and leadership (C-Level and Operations) are all excellent at Axian but it isn't the job for everyone. As I had stated, I wanted to grow and Axian provides ample opportunity. If you are interested in learning new things, are open to new technologies and not a diva, as in "I don't do front end" then this could be a spot for you. Also of note, this is a consulting position and there are times when there are many balls up in the air regarding your next assignment. If you trust the system and know that this isn't their first rodeo (25 years in business) then you'll do just fine. If you're looking for a place to retire and do the same thing, this isn't the job for you. There are plenty of places in and around Portland that will let you do C# and WPF for the rest of your days :)

More team based consulting (5-8 person teams hired by Axian to do on-site/near-site consulting) Culture is a work in progress, though they are actively working on it and have a team doing events to help socialize the 40 or so engineers that work for Axian.
