Listening is the key to all effective communication and is important for positive human relationships. Without the ability to listen effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. As a result, communication breaks down and the sender of the message can easily become frustrated or irritated. Politics, though unwarranted, are commonplace in the working world – and most of us have would have been caught in such uncomfortable situations at least once. Learning to manage politics professionally is a skill that adaptable employees will need to learn, and we do recommend taking these few steps to respond if you come across workplace saboteurs: 1. Talk to the person directly, but in a non-confrontational manner 2. Think thoroughly about the issue 3.
