Vantaggi

Like all work places there are some good people at Bowen to work with. Unfortunately, the good people leave or just check out because they realize it's a toxic environment and there are way better options out there.

Svantaggi

Bowen talks a good game but in reality it's all about ego building for the executive team and CEO. There is no room for growth for employees. Bowen would rather hire externally than promote within. Likely to avoid promoting individuals that can see the cracks in the company. There is a lot of infighting amongst the executive team as well as senior management. There is no leadership within the company and the problem starts at the top. The CEO is nice but is incapable of making business decisions, dealing with conflict or sticking with a game plan. The executives constantly play the blame game. The see something shiny and they change direction. They treat staff like kids in a divorce, they are pawns in a bitter game. In the end the employees and clients lose out.

Vantaggi

It was a remote position!

Svantaggi

Honestly it wasn’t that that bad, it just depends on what you’re looking for.

Vantaggi

You have a job, insurance, & a place to go to every day while you are looking for a long-term career plan.

Svantaggi

There is an extreme amount of micro-managing. They tell you that if you close a deal within the first 90 days that doesn't count against your draw, but it does. You have to have a draw check for it to go into play or be able to be paid on it. I closed $90k worth of fees in my first five months & never saw a dime of it. The managers on the permanent placement team are good sales people, but have no business being managers. They need to learn to be professional in the workplace as well. There is no work-life ballance. They expect you to be in the office by 7:30 AM, but don't even think about leaving before 6 pm. They hire a lot of people right out of college & expect everyone to work 50+ hour work weeks not allowing for family time. It is basically a telemarketing center for recruiters, very loud with only about 2 feet between you & the recruiter in the desk beside you. There is no place in the office to take a break, no down time in this whole office. Don't take an offer here unless you are straight out of college, because you will not get treated like an adult with all of the micro-managing & belittling.
