Not a place for a well-qualified and aspirational product person. The company is an ops company with a very average product. They are not serious about building a good product but rather it is a support function to the ops team. The product team is also broken to its core with the head of the department a completely brainless person with no sense of management or work style. He has no prior product knowledge and only survives by licking the founders' boots. You cannot take any input or suggestions from him if you are stuck. On the contrary, he will throw you under the bus from time to time. 4 people resigned within a span of 1 month under him. What else can you expect from a person who stopped the promotion of every member of the team just to get himself promoted? He is a self-proclaimed leader. with zero leadership skills who will never back you as a manager and has put people in a Performance Improvement Plan for taking leaves for just 3 days after getting seriously sick. I would never recommend working under him. He can't go anywhere else as he will not get any other job but you should definitely look for a better option rather than work under such a person
