Stressful time - Recensione dipendente - Teacher In Training presso BestStart

I worked at this preschool and unfortunately had a very negative experience. I was quite young at the time, the youngest there by many, many years, and instead of being supported or guided, I often felt belittled and blamed for things that went wrong, even when they weren’t my responsibility. The older teachers, who were supposed to be my co-workers and part of a “team,” offered very little support. I constantly felt alone, and most days I was either crying or on the verge of tears because I had no one to go to. The ratios were terrible, which made the job incredibly stressful and overwhelming. Whenever I made a mistake, I was made to feel like I was a bad teacher rather than someone who was still learning and doing their best. There was no praise or encouragement, only criticism, which really took a toll on my confidence and mental health. Overall, this was a very toxic and emotionally draining environment especially for someone young just starting out in early childhood. I wouldn’t recommend this workplace to anyone looking for a supportive or nurturing team culture.
