Vantaggi
There are some good perks, some benefits are even above standard for good tech companies like "unlimited vacations" which really means max 30 days, which is only to be on par with Brazil that has 30 legal days. So if you are Brazilian then this really isn't a benefit is it. If you are not in tech and come from more traditional companies then all the benefits will seem pretty sweet for sure. The good thing about the "purpose" of the company is the donations, i can't take anything away from that,
Svantaggi
In regards to the "purpose", everyone throws this buzzword around and I can't see how this is a pro, since the purpose of the company is to literally sell a worthless life insurance policy to 100MM people and increase the money bags of insurance companies. Have you ever heard of someone saying "oh geez I love working for an insurance company, they are so honest, trustworthy and they totally care about people's wellbeing and not about maxing out profits". They brag about "an insurance that increases in coverage " as opposed to the regular insurances where you are "punished", and while yes that is factually true, just check out how much coverage you can get with the cheapest policy in your country, it's miles ahead of what the app's policy covers for about the same price as the subscription. But I digress. That little rant aside. With regards to actually working here, culture, etc., it's just ok. The truth is that if you don't do anything related to tech and come from a traditional company then this is a great place, it's probably a good step up, I always see everyone from marketing, sales, customer exp, etc., be really happy. However, if you are in the part of the company that actually builds the product you can find much better places to work at. Unless you are fresh out of college, I doubt you will learn much useful stuff, or learn in a way that is meaningful to your journey to become an integral senior engineer. The senior devs that built the codebase are very lacking, close to zero testing, lack of good practices overall, don't know how to work in a modern tech environment, zero agile knowledge, no coding standards. This company is basically an anti-pattern teaching machine. To finalize my review, I can only speak to the development side of things, but the engineering process is a joke. This is not a tech company, this is a sales company. Also the product team doesn't get invited to events, nor any of the fun, "impactful and social" activities they show their employees doing in their videos, just the smoke selling department. But well, it's not like we have the time for that either, since we are always on the clock thanks to the mentality of prioritizing sales with no regards to the implementation nor infrastructure limitations. There is so much more I could go on about, like reverting to hybrid models from remote first, plans to track and monitor your work, regressing from free scheduling, you better not go over a 60 minutes lunch break!! Thanks to this and their unjustified firings they are leaking good talent like crazy. The pay, to be fair, is ok, actually good compared to the overall market, tho the overall market is full of bs small low quality companies. If you consider yourself a good engineer then it's below market. And if you are from a poor country then you are screwed since HR has no values and thinks equal work does not merit equal pay, and you are only entitled to the standard of living of your fellow third world countrymen. There are some good perks, some benefits are even above standard for good tech companies like "unlimited vacations" that really means 30 days max. This is only to be on par with Brazil that has 30 legal days, so if you are Brazilian then this really isn't a benefit, is it.
