Lots of competition both at your level and management level. Lots of nepotism. People are often moved up based on likeability and backdoor agreements as opposed to qualifications/work ethic. Feedback can be skewed as an individual manager is responsible for obtaining it. Feedback should be systematic as opposed to being delivered to managers directly. Your manager can make or break your experience and oftentimes, managers are chosen based on their desires to get promoted as opposed to being qualified and supportive managers. There is a LOT of bureaucracy. Formally did not exist but now, there are a million guardrails to get things done. Qualified and competent leadership turnover and layoffs have been consistent leading to operating events because of junior less experienced employees being asked to backfill tasks formally managed by more experienced leaders. The culture of layoffs right before compensation is intimidation and does not lead to a healthy work environment. Compensation has not increased in the last few years but layoffs continue to increase. Do not work here if you want to have a personal life. It is a hard place to work and you will be expected to sacrifice a lot of time for your job. If you are not mentally or emotionally strong enough or have a lot of outside desires/obligations, it's probably not the best choice for you.
