Engineers are tasked with products or goals.
We get to take a project from idea/market need through r&d, prototyping, production, and mature production stages. True cradle to grave experience.
Other engineers always happy to assist with their expertise
High mix low volume environment ensures a wide variety of projects
Svantaggi
Timelines are short compared to other area employers. Concept to production is typically under a year.
Multitasking is paramount to success. You will often have several unrelated projects to manage simultaneously.
Engineers act as project managers and designers, this may be a con to some.
- A select few good people who generally care.
- Great manufacturing facilities, they really put forth the effort into making quality products.
- Great respect amongst their clientele and customers.
Svantaggi
- Extremely outdated company culture, it's generally disrespected if you show to have much of a life outside of the office. Office politics are also extremely prevalent and very prohibitive to productivity.
- New ownership is virtually unintelligible and extremely condescending. Often makes bad decisions or communicates things extremely ineffectively, but blames employees instead of owning up to it.
- Employees are generally extremely devalued. There aren't many chances to contribute outside of micromanagement. A select few employees that have been there for years shoulder most of the work, yet hardly get any of the credit for it.
- The market for their products are slowly dying. The marine tech industry will be effectively dead within a decade, and the company is doing very little to adapt.
