As a business, Clay is pretty focused on growth (our last retreat had hats with the word "Growth" written on them). Interestingly enough, growth is also the word I'd also use to describe the emotional experience of working at Clay. Obviously, the engineers here are world-class, and looking at the code I was writing a year ago vs. today is like night and day. But more importantly - time and again I've had a personal challenge, needed help on my processes, ... - and Kareem, Varun, and team leaders like Eric Engoron always made it a point to do whatever they could to help me learn from the experience. Their patience, and depth of thought, is awesome. Growth is a big theme - leadership has brought in professional coaches, they make as many therapy options as possible covered by our health plan, they don't micromanage and they encourage a culture of "figure it out, fix it, and tell everyone what you did - don't ask for permission." The people here are kind, they're empathetic, they're smart, and they genuinely want you to thrive. If you're looking to grow a fast as possible as an engineer and as a person, I can't recommend Clay highly enough.

Like any startup, you'll have to learn how to calibrate your emotional reactions and parse out actionable feedback from high-stakes scenarios. You need to be a good listener, and an emotionally introspective person, to thrive at Clay.
