Svantaggi
Overall pretty good, no cons
Vantaggi
The students are lovely. Helping students is the best part. It is the only part that I enjoy and the only reason why I have stayed as long as I have. You do get paid, but it isn't much. If you are not a teacher, then you get at most 26% of the fee a student or family pays. If you are a teacher then you get $5 more. You can set your own schedule, but you have to have a certain number of hours each week. This doesn't reflect on how many students you will have, just how many you can have. Each student comes with a program based on their location and year. This means that tutors don't have to work hard to build lessons for their students. That said, the program is incomplete in many key areas and lacks enough questions for good retention.
Svantaggi
Each month we are told how many tutors reach certain milestones. The highest is 3000 sessions. So far, only 2 people have reached this milestone. These people have been working there for about 5 years each. So, this tells you about how long tutors stay with the company. The pay isn't worth the time you put in. The students are charged a bundle based on the plan that they have, which isn't based on level or content (year 12 math is charged the same as year 3 math). Fees are charged based on how often you might want to cancel a session or pause your program. The fees are EXPENSIVE. This means that students only stay for a short time, or only the wealthiest of students can afford tutoring. (Fees are from $70-95 per session,) Trying to get technical help after 7PM AEST is impossible. You can't even call Cluey after 5PM. This means students in WA never get technical or tutor support during their sessions. Along those lines, tutors are not listened to at all. Changes are made to the system and tutors are not informed. When we do bring up issues or complaints, we are ignored or told it isn't going to happen, so to stop asking/complaining about it. You also can't easily change your schedule. If you want to change it for a single week, you have to request the time off as leave instead of just adjusting your schedule. If you adjust your schedule, you lose those hours for the rest of the year. If you had students at that time, they are automatically assigned to another tutor, even if it was only for a week. You only get 2 leaves at a time. This means that you can't plan your life too far in advance.
