I'm not convinced that the way I was fired was legal. The company is more concerned with profits than people. No room for advancement. This company used to be innovative, but has stopped caring about its mission. You will be overworked and severely underpaid. There's an on-call phone rotation, and you'll occasionally be asked to work nights and weekends. You will have to deal with more human fecal matter than you expect. You'll be stressed and anxious all the time, and you'll have little to show for it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m sorry you feel that way, and we take ownership in any part we played in that, but we don’t fully agree with your account. At CIP, our sole focus is on student and family outcomes. The decisions we make are always in consideration of what’s best for the young adults we serve. While independent living is a critical part of our program, your description doesn’t reflect the full scope or quality of the work we do. We’ve supported thousands of students over 40 years, and the progress they’ve made toward independence, self-advocacy, and meaningful lives speaks volumes. This work is complex, and we’re always learning and growing as an organization. We wish you the best and remain committed to doing right by our students, families, and team.
