Stay away, toxic environment where the principal actively yells at all the employees. He is a bully, and outright racist and sexist at times. Odd relationship between the principal and office manager. Worse place I’ve ever worked for, and would not wish that type of work environment for anyone. So many people leave for a small firm, the turn over is ridiculous. The pay is low, vacation days and sick leave horrible- 5 days total after 1 year, and benefit sucks- high premium and deductible for basic care. They don’t even do flex spending or commuter cards. Lunch is only 1/2 hour, can’t even stand in line to get lunch in that short of a time. The office, for an architecture firm, is subpar and cluttered. So behind in technology, they don’t even know telework or cloud. No one has laptops. Don’t come here for growth unless you want to be stuck in Autocad and MSWord. They are too cheap to invest in anything else. There will be no one to train or teach you. All this dims in light of principal who is just an awful person to work for. He makes tons of money while pays and treats his employee like crap. The staff is diverse, but I think he hires immigrants so he can simply pay everyone less. The worse kind of hypocrite.

Some of the employess make getting through the day bearable. Work outside of the office with clients, consultants and contractors is pleasant.

This firm does not consider nor respect that most individuals in the profession are educated professionals who care about their careers. It is not a professional and collaborative work environment. Moral is extremely low among all levels of employees. There are no internal methods to, encourage, maintain or enforce productivity except for the few loyal sidekicks, who are also regularly berated, who spend much of their billable hours tracking your whereabouts (even though there is a sign out sheet), including how long you spend in the bathroom. Very unpleasant environment to have to spend 40+ hours a week. Benefits are substandard for the industry: - No vacation time for 1st year (1 week of vacation after 1 year, 2 weeks after 2 years) -5 sick days a year -5-6 paid federal holidays -401k after 1 year (but was never offered) -Only medical, no dental or vision insurance -Mandatory 30-minute lunch break between 12:30pm -1pm
