Associates are good people, and genuinely care about each other and the organization.

Where to begin.... There are huge pay gaps between associate level and leadership level. Leadership (by this I mean director level and above) takes everything for themselves, especially C-Suite and treats management level and below terribly. There is no communication Their slogan is "create joy" and "people matter" but they do not live by this internally. There is no diversity They fire good people and keep people on who are incompetent and "yes men" so leadership can do what they want. It used to be a great place to work but it has rapidly gone down hill due to new C-Suite execs. Career growth does not exist Management has no autonomy Work-life balance for associates also does not exist while leadership (director level and above) are never on-site or online. It's a terrible place to work, and it's unfortunate because working here you want to be aligned with their mission and do good but they demoralize you and treat you terrible until they either fire you or you leave.

It was nice knowing that the hard work you put in each day was to achieve social good for others to enable their fundraising efforts. It was a great reminder that the work you do can truly make a difference in people's lives. I also liked the flexible schedule and the locations were convenient for my daily commute. Plus the popcorn is out of this world so the monthly allowance never went to waste!

As a growth focused company, but one that is methodical in its focus, sometimes we could move a bit slower than I was accustomed to at prior companies but I eventually adjusted.

The people you work with and nice days off

After working hard and dedicating myself to the company, I was let go with no real explanation. Not long after, they started bringing in a bunch of temps to replace full-time employees — clearly a cost-cutting move. It’s frustrating and disheartening to see how easily they’ll toss out experienced staff just to save a few bucks. Management and HR constantly talk about having an “open door policy,” but don’t let the slogan fool you — they’re not there to support you. If you raise concerns or try to speak up, you’re either ignored or brushed off. It’s all talk, no action. I’ve now been unemployed for almost two months, trying to get back on my feet after being blindsided. Just be warned: if you’re looking for stability, fairness, or respect — you won’t find it here.
