      There are genuinely good people here that are unfortunately being conned into thinking they have a great opportunity to advance their careers. They work themselves ragged, while being manipulated into thinking their lack of success is due to their own failures and not a systemic problem. The reality is that the owner is exploiting people so he can drive a Mercedes and tell people he is successful. This happens all the time!!! Spend any amount of time here and you can see how these people are being exploited by a con artist. Google GDR & Associates and East Valley Consulting and you can see this has been going on for 10 years. The only way to keep this scam going is to move the company and change the name and number every few years to try to avoid exposure to the truth.

      There are so many it really is sad. Ultimately people are being exploited during a time when people just want to maintain a job so they can pay bills. They offer a guaranteed pay of $300.00 per week which is below minimum wage and ILLEGAL!!! Plus, you have to drive your own car (miles and wear/tear), pay your own gas, and pay your own phone out of that $300. You are "pressured" into working 50+ hours a week "if you want to be successful" but once again don't get paid, WHICH IS ILLEGAL!!! There a NO health benefits and NO paid time off, WHICH IS ILLEGAL!!! You can go on "business trips" that are simply shoving 5-6 people into a single Motel 6 room and letting them go door to door in another city. Oh and none of your expenses are reimbursed!! The owner prays on people he sees as weak and will try to get everything he can out of them until they quit. He doesn't fire people so he won't have to pay unemployment. He simply treats them like crap until the leave. The sales and company are purely a platform for him to exploit as many people as he can for personal gain. The turn-over is extremely disturbing. I've been at big company's(500+ people) known for turn-over and this beats them all. There were maybe 20 employees at any given time and 10-12 of them would have been there only a couple weeks and new people starting every day. When your company is only 20 people and you are hiring people everyday... THAT'S A RED FLAG!!! Do yourself a favor and just avoid this all together.

      I had to take a few days to respond to this one. I am not sure if you ever worked here, or you may have worked here 7 or 8 years ago. I think you would be very impressed with how far we have come over the last few years. We have managed to increase our pay and are able to add residual income and benefits after 90 days. We are also proud to say that we have been able to add fuel and travel reimbursement with completion of our training program. We experience attrition as some sales and marketing environments aren’t conducive to everyone. With our increased payroll and opportunity for advancement, we have managed to greatly improve over the years. Surely we have a long road ahead of us, but we will surely work hard to get there as we grow. We have also managed to increase our Management and HR team to over 10 and look forward to continued growth. We are still a small business but we have managed to grow into 4 new markets including 1 on the east coast, in the last 4 years. We are also working hard to add another before the end of this year. I am not sure why you wrote this review “now” or where the animosity is coming from, or where your issues lie with me personally but I would love to meet with you face to face and talk though your concerns. I cannot say we or I am perfect, but “I can say” that we are working hard in that direction. I do wish you the very best and hope you are able to come by the office to chat. – CEO

      EVC Scottsdale is truly a great company to work for if you really want to establish your chops as a talented and effective salesman/woman. The position is door-to-door sales and marketing of office supplies, which admittedly, does not sound glamorous. However, this sales environment teaches you a great deal about your own capacities as a salesperson, how best to sell, and how to present yourself as confident and competent. EVC uses hands-on, in the field training methods to ensure that you’re learning sales tactics that are tried and tested and have been proven to work. Further, the people that work at EVC are exceptional, not only in sales, but as individuals. EVC fosters a community of camaraderie and group encouragement (rather than stiff competition). As an employee of EVC you genuinely do feel cared for by your co-workers, which makes for a truly awesome work environment. There is also a lot of opportunity for career growth at this company. The transition to assistant manager and then owner is not necessarily easy but is definitely doable, and your co-workers and boss will help you along the way. The company has a lot of really rewarding possibilities: in these accelerated positions you can not only make more money, but you can help your co-workers make money too. The position is not easy, and you will be pushed to excel, but it is a great company and the CEO will help you get to anywhere you want to go if you let him.
