Vantaggi
I definitely learned a lot working for Elite Daily when it comes to writing catchy headlines and understanding SEO. I've taken a lot of that knowledge with me throughout my career. It's also pretty flexible schedule-wise, unless your editor is a micromanager and you're an extremely slow writer.
Svantaggi
They just don't care about their writers, tbh. When I started writing for them, they offered me $15/hour. By the time I quit 5 years later, I was making $20/hour, which is still not a living wage. Oh, and they ask for 2+ years writing/SEO experience before you're even hired. They also ask their writers to work JUST below full-time, which means you're working quite a bit but you have no security or benefits. They have a culture in which writers are excluded from the editorial process, which is not how all websites are run. Don't ever expect to get promoted to being an editor either, they won't even offer you a path to promotion. If you're a part-time writer at ED, you'll likely never be more than that.
