What's not to love about Focus? Great people, great culture & work environment, great benefits, and awesome projects. Focus has made its stamp in Chicago on residential/commercial construction in the past 20 years, and if you are lucky enough to end up on one of the in-house development projects, you'll get to experience the brilliance of the development team, lead by the CEO. Upper management really emphasizes culture, and creating a fun and productive work environment, and there is truly a family feel and cohesive bond between all employees that makes the collaboration process that much easier. Everyone is extremely friendly and talented at what they do. There is also a clear sense of urgency to get better across the board in all departments. The upper management team shows that they listen to any criticism that is given and a desire to get better at any downfalls. Would definitely recommend Focus to anyone that actually wants to learn about construction or development!

Although the compensation is great, this is one area that I feel Focus can be an industry leader, especially to those that show great potential long-term value for the company. There is an opportunity to incentivize employees which will greatly benefit the company, as well as the individuals. Not so much of a con as it is a suggestion. Training younger staff members is a little rough, but there is a clear push to resolve this issue, and there is no doubt Focus will get better at this as well. Only other con is long work hours if you do not manage your time appropriately.
