Employees are asked to do a lot with a little. These days, stores are completely understaffed, forcing 1-2 employees to wear many hats. Learning is nice, but the company sees your nutrition knowledge as their selling strategy and forces weekly nutrition training to promote add-on sales. Corporate doesn’t have a plan for success, rather they host meetings asking the employees for ideas. They’ve driven away their best employees through overworking and harassing them, placing bets on them, and if they want you to leave, they’ll harass you until you quit. I’ve seen it happen at least 8 times. If you’re strong willed and refuse to quit, they’ll harass you some more and offer severance pay. The President of the company talks a big game about leadership and teamwork, but doesn’t lead by example- he’s the source of harassment and bets. He’d rather scream at an employee in front of their peers than pull them aside like a leader and show them the flaws in their actions. Lastly, the positions are severely underpaid and they know it. They try to make up for it by having pizza parties, handing out branded blankets and water bottles, but these things do not pay the bills. This company will not pay you a living wage unless you’re a manager.
