Vantaggi

Team members are fun to work with, good employee discount. When you do meet friendly customers, that is the real rewarding part.

Svantaggi

I'm writing this to educate those whom are about to sign up for Farm Ambassador. First, let me make it clear, this is a Door-to-Door Sales position. Nothing more, nothing less! Yes, the term solicitor applies - you are soliciting a farm box subscription at the door. This job will put you in some very uncomfortable situations (crazy dogs, irate/immature customers, questionable homes, all-weather/temperature conditions, and you will face endless rejection). And yes, there IS a weekly quota you have to meet. For some reason, in the distraction of "organic activist" and other lingo in the numerous Indeed postings, this gets missed among new entrants. But it's not entirely their fault, this company tries very hard to make it sound different than what it is. Your job, frankly, is to generate revenue (via the sale of the subscription box) so the company can keep the farms going and generate profit for the company. Every company's goal is to be profitable, so take no offense to their profit goals. Just know it is your role to generate that front end revenue. They can advertise this all they want, you will have nothing to do with farm production, and other than a farm visit or two, you won't see much of what you're selling. They will train you very little in the beginning for what you will really face at the door. There isn't a website training, and you won't know how anything works until you sign up for a box yourself. No training on the sales tools themselves either - you learn this as you go. Hopefully they mature a little more on this perspective. Much of the strategy to sell, beyond scripts and objection handling, is figured out on your own. Morning sales team meetings are often a let down, and they miss the boat on key issues (because there are no good answers). Basically, think of yourself as an independent contractor they've hired to meet a quota, after they give you some material, and if you don't perform they'll rotate you out over time. Lastly, prepare to see folks rotate in and out constantly. High turnover. The idea is to keep rotating until they find who can sell big numbers. At the time I worked there, we never did a single event, and never anything different than door-to-door sales each and every day. Same thing every day. I don't think they have a Marketing manager, or department. Also, don't expect to get any time off...even if you have the hours. They frown upon taking a day off for any reason and will expect you will make up the entire day.

Vantaggi

Free food, great way to build skills, get to work cool events around Seattle and explore the Seattle metro doing outside sales.

Svantaggi

It took me 3-4 months to start hitting bigger commissions but the weight was worth it.

Vantaggi

Can earn good money while doing good work in your community. Fun team environment. Training and strong leadership!

Svantaggi

Not for the faint of heart. You gotta love working with people and sometimes people can be rude. Lots of resources but this isn't a "hand-holding" job where you can just show up without putting in effort each day.
