There are some truly genuine people there that want the best for the company. They will work long hours and do whatever it takes to make Haystax successful. The benefits are decent too. Haystax offers things like telecommuting, flexible work hours, 401k matching, etc.

The product vision is not clear and there is an absence of processes and planning which creates confusion amongst all departments. This ultimately stems from a lack of leadership. Haystax prides themselves in autonomy and no micromanagement. However, it's to the point where you honestly don't know what you're supposed to be doing. They have no problem dropping money on things like a keg, espresso machine, drinks at restaurants, etc. but have trouble paying for tools/resources for workers. Every workplace is not without this, but on numerous occasions gender discrimination against women was obvious. Workers are not part of the hiring process. It seems that senior leadership has the only say in who will be hired. The all-hands meetings always brought to light issues going on within the company but action was never taken to correct these issues.

These included being recognized as one of the top 100 most innovative private companies by Red Herring and one of the 16 most innovative cybersecurity company by SINET. Gartner also recognized us as a top vendor in the hot user behavior analytics and insider threat product space. We look forward to building on these in 2018. If anything, 2017 was a year in which our product vision, execution and focus were validated by market success rather than being a ‘pandemonium’. While we are not perfect, we are always striving to improve and to be the company where every employee can feel empowered and supported to do their best work everyday. Yes, we highly recommend Ed Catmull’s book as well. It was recommended to all employees 👍🏻
