Vantaggi
Innovative Concept: Homethrive has great potential to revolutionize caregiving, but it needs the right leadership team to make that happen, a team that the company currently lacks.
Svantaggi
1. Constantly Changing Expectations: Leadership frequently changes and/or ignores policies and expectations without ANY communication, expecting employees to figure it out. If you don’t keep up, they will hold it against you, if you speak on it, they will eye roll you and still hold it against you. 2. Lack of Genuine Care: Despite promoting “personalized care,” Homethrive treats employees like a numbers game. From day one, employees were promised Monday-to-Friday work and equal pay—only to discover those were just two of many broken promises. Management shows little to no consideration for their teams, even when sharing sensitive information, but somehow leads can get away with letting loose on company time. 3. Jargon-Filled Meetings: Meetings feel like TED Talks with no viewers. They’re filled with corporate buzzwords, irrelevant cartoons from leads, false promises, and empty statements from the VC management team aimed at impressing the CEOs, but with no real substance. 4. Contradictory Culture: There’s a huge disconnect between the company’s outward messaging and internal reality, creating a culture of disillusionment for employees. The MISSION STATEMENT, which claims to support caregivers and reduce stress, is a failed promise when the companies own employees are the ones left stressed and unsupported. 5. Lack of Respect and Understanding: Although Homethrive is a fast-paced startup, respect and understanding for employees should still be a priority. Being a startup doesn’t excuse poor treatment or a lack of consideration for individuals’ well-being. 6. A Few Good Employees, But… The company might have a handful of good employees, but they are overshadowed by a culture that does NOT prioritize their well-being. This experience taught me what NOT to look for in my future endeavors.
