Though it tried hard to portray itself as a UK company, it is a Chinese national company who prefers hiring Chinese nationals. They give the convenient excuse of promoting Chinese food to overseas Chinese. They are confident of their business model because of the large Chinese population. Daily operations and communications are held predominantly in Chinese despite operating in non-Chinese speaking countries. Management seen to be biased against people who don't share their backgrounds and often demonstrates cultural insensitivity despite being in a foreign land. The Chinese-nationals are given preferential treatment. If you are non-Chinese and non-PRC Chinese, at some point you might feel you are a second class employee. Poor and inexperience management because they are very young. But they are able to take a beating because of their large funding. They expect you to work long because they are a start-up but they are not very upfront too.
