Vantaggi
Co-workers were awesome which translated to high team morale and satisfaction, until recently. Staff discount is good and you can use it at other Accent Gr companies.
Svantaggi
• Area manager was UNPROFESSIONAL, UNEDUCATED, and ridiculously PETTY. No tolerance for employees who do not kiss their feet and would rather replace highly skilled staff members with new vulnerable employees, rather than resolve conflict. Will talk behind employees' backs if they have a personal issue and is passive aggressive when being confronted even about small disagreements. Lacked transparency with the team which is highly unethical. • FAVOURITISM towards certain staff members who were always given long shifts and rostered on busier days, despite negative work attitude. Unfair allocation of shifts because of this. • COUNTERPRODUCTIVE performance based rostering: lower ranking employees on the KPI ladder would be rostered on the more quiet, low foot traffic days with little potential to achieve higher sales and KPI rankings for the following week, resulting in a continuous cycle of minimal shifts. This rostering system also created TOXIC COMPETITION between the team. • Constantly being MICROMANAGED and CONDESCENDING attitude towards staff members. Will never give proper recognition for high achievements of individual staff and stores but will focus on the negatives. • Did not take complaints and enquiries seriously and management did not enforce effective conflict resolution procedures. • Product selection as of recent has been horrible! There is absolutely NOTHING "exclusive" or "premium" about 97% of their range. Newer and vulnerable recruits lack knowledge and passion about sneakers and fashion in general and are obviously only hired by management to slowly replace the older team who are now aware of the toxic work culture. • "Training shifts" were given to employees who didn't meet KPI's but were given absolutely no training because management knows they are already highly skilled. • Senior casuals are expected to be able to perform all tasks a manager would know how to do, despite only being paid not much more than a regular casual. • Condition and organisation of the stockrooms at my particular store was appalling. Management refuses to pay staff to do stock shifts even though this impacts upon the ease of finding shoes and can lead to potential stock errors.
