Vantaggi
1) The work is easy as it's generally "Do what is told" work. 2) People are great and very polite to each other. They interact with each other and is open to conversation. Everyone is help full. 3) Your individual contribution matters to them at least in the team. 4) The people are super talented and there is a lot to learn.
Svantaggi
1) The company is not open to pitches or anything that is new at least as a video team. 2) Most work gets rejected because someone from the upper management did not "like" the work or feels that it might not work for the target audience even though they have never created content themselves. They don't understand the target user at least the content team. I worked on a project for two months, single handedly shooting, editing and directing, the project was discarded because the upper management didn't "feel" that the audience would like it. 3) A lot of personal issues reflect in appraisal as the parameters have this not required thing called "Inter-personal skill". If you disagree with a senior from another team that you work with, it manifests into getting low rating in that area. 4) The politics is crazy! "Yes" people (managers are always right) survive in the company. A lot of times if you oppose the team lead, they say "I feel we should do this...actually lets do what I think" disregarding all of the expertise of the team members. For example, there was a content strategy meeting which had a film-maker with years of experience and people who make content themselves, everyone pitched ideas and all of them were rejected because the art director "Didn't feel we should do this" 5) This company fails to use potentials of individuals and as a collective and becomes an average mess because of the upper management. 6) The policy of the company changes very frequently and always in Favour of the company (which is understandable) but it's not beneficial to the employees.
