Downsides... where to begin? -Member of the CLAC (pro-employer union)... this allows JMR to underbid most competing local companies (IBEW) because they can underpay their (trades) a terrible wage for the work required of them. -MINIMUM 44 hours a week of work. Say goodbye to any of your after-work life plans...That means 7-4:30pm every day except Fridays where you finish at 3:30pm. -At JMR, Journeyman Electricians make as much as plumbers & mechanical. -JMR expects every journeyman to have ALL TOOLS OF THE TRADE ($4000+) (SDS drills, grinders, hole saw kit... the list is a page long of tools required). -You have to buy your own SAFETY HARNESS??? -Employment probation is 6 months long. -I`ve seen many people leave this company for the reasons listed above. As a result there is a very high turnover. -Big city work with small town wages... -Leadership is lacking... It`s hard to keep good Foreman around when they are paid 2 dollars per hour more than Journeyman at JMR. -There is no such thing as work-life balance. It`s only work. (Great opportunity if you're single and have no life)
