The people can be fun to work with, lots of laughs, and the marketing department is made up of a young team of 20 somethings and early 30s. There are opportunities to work beyond the scope of your immediate responsibilities if you express interest and demonstrate the skill and talent for the work. While the brands have been around for a long time the fact that there was a bankruptcy years ago and an investement company purchased them makes it more like a start-up. This leaves room for those opportunities to happen since the company needs to grow. Birthdays are celebrated with cake, and sometimes ice cream. The company has a lunch for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and in the marketing department there's usually a lunch party and a few happenings throughout the year.

The chain of command makes progress extremely difficult, long and tedious most of the time. Projects are frequently assigned or brought to attention at the last minute, which can make things stressful, especially when it's avoidable. The department lacks a Creative Director to properly steer and guide the creative direction and look for each brand in general. There's really not any opportunity to climb the ladder into senior roles. If one is hired to work as a designer in Ecommerce, you can bet you'll be in that position for years to come without opportunity to climb that ladder. With such small teams and being in such a small town without any other immediate companies with design opportunities it makes climbing the ladder into higher roles pretty much impossible, given the managers have been there for years.
