It is a good place to learn....You get to learn all the necessary stuff regarding mines ...The companies motto is "All men ,all work " So , even you are from any field of engineering , at the end of the year you would be knowing all the things whether it is regarding machines used or regarding mining prospects ....The services provided in the guest house (hostel) are very good and your expenses would be very less...less expenses means more savings ...It is a very good place for diploma holders ...diploma holders gets good pay in joy mining than any other company in india ...

The designation offered to a fresher is not good ...both diploma holder and b.tech holder gets the designation of formen ....so , if u are from B.tech or B.E , u wont have any extra edge over the diploma holder ...unlike other companies where u are always treated above diploma holder ...Thus , if you want to switch to some other companies from joy mining ,then your past designation would be of a formen ...so ,this would act against u and may be u won't be getting a good designation in the new company...

Great company to work for back in the 1970's and 80's and 90's... Back in the day we had excellent supervisors who were promoted from within... Building OEM machines was smooth and fast.. We built 40 + miners and 60 +shuttle cars every month. Plus a Mope Beach Powell machine..

Today it is very rare that a good employee is promoted from within.. The new Joy policy is to hire college grads for salaried positions, instead of promoting from within. These grads come on board and have no idea what a mining machine is or how to build it.. Today Joy Mining is full of supervisors who are there just for the money.. Thank god the shop workers know how to build the machines.. If it was not for the knowledge of the shop workers this company would have never been number #1..
