Vantaggi
There is an abundance of opportunities to learn, network, and grow if this is your first entry level position. Most of the managers and staff get along with each other which helps as it's a collaborative environment and everyone can tap each other's experiences. The trainings were the highlight when I started, but there were cutbacks slowly on the extravagant events. But they give the interns the red carpet treatment to stay competitive with other Big 4. On the other hand, training is encouraged in going to other events outside of the firm to network and learn about whatever will further your career.
Svantaggi
There are numerous downsides from the outset - long hours, politics, travel and hours on the road (and not being fairly compensated for doing so), worklife balance issues when you're place on certain projects. The hours are long and expected when you are trying to complete a project which is expected, but not ever noticed by any of senior management. Leads to bad morale I think. The bigger downside is the travel and being sent to projects in the middle of nowhere. And there is no way they can compensate you for that because it is not measured and it's hours away from living your life.
