Everyone is so kind and welcoming, great benefits like fully stocked kitchen so you can make lunch in the office and even request groceries every week, and reimbursement for parking/ubers/public transportation. Projects are super interesting - span across all industries with a focus on healthcare. Most of our clients are hedge funds or PE firms so you help them make investment decisions which I find really interesting and I feel like I’m always learning something new. Amazing work life balance as well! People really care about each other at the company and senior managers are very invested in your personal growth. Everyone is super smart as well so it’s a great working environment where you can constantly learn from the people around you.

Honestly none - so far it’s great!

Working at Lake was instrumental in developing the strategic thinking that I've used in the next steps of my career. Before Lake, I had been successful in school and more directed roles, but I struggled with ambiguity. My managers and colleagues helped me create structure from chaos, in my arguments and in my work style. There is no substitute to having your logical flow challenged day in and day out. Also, the pay was great, my coworkers were smart and fun, and the hours were no different than other comparable positions in the consulting world.

Learning is a double-edged sword. Being challenged, constantly, can be uncomfortable and unrelenting, and it's not uncommon for people to decide after a few years that they'd like to do something different. I'm convinced, however, that the difficulty is directly responsible for the benefit. It is only because of the pressure that I find myself better equipped for the next set of challenges.
