Vantaggi

First year of joining Lam India Bangalore was great. It was smooth and taken care well.

Svantaggi

Problem starts from an year of joining. Software manager's job is horrible. Mediocre hike with unrealistic expectations. Though company boasts of work life balance, it is only on emails. Practically every manager in software slogs so much that they have any life. More than core work, driving initiatives is considered as gateway to promotion and RSU like your life depends on it. Even if someone has done excellent job as manager driving project with all metrics satisfied, appraisal turns into disappointment with poor hike because you did not drive initiatives. Worst of all those initiatives really suck. Something an HR or a training coordinator work is given to manager. What is even worse, year over year you need to prove again and again to parent company that you are productive. Parent company expects completion of work within metrics but these directors are always behind to prove to US team with new initiatives.. And those "initiatives" are crappy things. People managers, stay away. Only initial years are good. After that it is hell. Your promotion and growth depends on how good are you in non core work than what is expected from a manager. Thank god I am out of this crappy place.

Vantaggi

Good pay with decent benefits.

Svantaggi

Highly toxic in certain (not all) business units. Directors and above held to far lower standards than employees. I received a lot of abuse from my manager and when I reacted, she used it against me over the course of five years, resulting in my launching an ER investigation upon which resulted in my termination. (They weren't even adult enough to tell me I was being fired; I found out by accident when I received a termination paycheck). Would love to recommend, but would never recommend Lam based on the treatment I got from my entire leadership chain over a five year period. PS, pretty sure retaliation of this nature is against the law; looking into it.
