Two to four hour meetings over simple business decisions are quite common but the hierarchy of the place is such that the final decision is made by one or two people in the Executive team. The place prides itself to be an “equality” fostering oasis in a big bad world. Promotions and hiring are based on fulfilling vanity metrics - aka diversity. The company assigns a referral bonus for new hires based on gender and skin color. On the face of it, seems like a good strategy, but in reality it is patronizing.
