The culture at Maps is not conducive to success. Executive management’s treatment of staff is abhorrent. Staff are unjustifiably berated and verbally abused consistently. Frequent late payment of wages with rare advanced warning. It is perceived that these situations are often utilized as a test of loyalty to the company- if you are willing to work without pay they you care, if not, then you are punished by the treatment you receive following. Oftentimes it appears staff are paid one by one after proving their worthiness. The staff are highly talented, competent and capable but are set up for failure at every turn. The products and services are of a high quality and there is enormous potential for success if the environment was different. Unfortunately, with things as they are this is not somewhere you will be able to thrive and grow. Big visions for the future, misleading details to make the company seem more successful, and lip service to positive culture are poured over potential new hires. Be wary.

The company hires smart, capable staff (because it makes them look good). There is a comradery amongst the employees because of what they mutually have endured together while working there.

There is no future here. What was once a good company has been driven into the ground by the leadership there. It is in opposition to any reputable business practice you have ever experienced. When the staff inevitably demonstrate a prowess in their field that management thinks points a critical finger at how they are running things, management proceeds to tear them down and sabotages their efforts to prove they are smarter than them, subsequently sabotaging their own company. And if your job is tied to performance, then you feel trapped because you have nothing to show for your time there to be able to get another job, because you are sabotaged at every turn. Don't think “Oh at least it is a pay check and there are benefits” because that is not assured either, believe me. Be warned. Everyone is just biding their time till it all collapses.
