Vantaggi
-It isn't the end of the world if you're a little bit late. -The restaraunt I work in has an adequately long and varied music playlist playing. I've been told that the playlist is the same in every restaraunt but I know that some restaraunts play classical music to ward off antisocial behaviour, so I guess that's not strictly true. I know music is basic hospitality sector stuff, but to me it is an essential feature for optimising employee and customer wellbeing and comfort. That is, only if the playlists are long and varied enough. If not, it can become a massive con; being forced to listen to the same set of songs over and over for hours a day - and I don't even work full time there, far from it - is psychological torture material. I am an autistic person (also ADHD, but people typically understand sensory difficulties as being more associated with autism, so I mention that foremost) and I don't love the loud, socially stressful aspects of the job, nor do I the sights and smells of constantly obliterated toilet basins and burger meat stamped into the floor. However, I would rather deal with the worst of that stuff every single shift than feel the pain in my brain caused by the same 20 songs played over and over across 7 hours every shift. I have worked and suffered (and left) jobs like that. Call me dramatic but that's just me. -I regularly walk 10-16k steps in a 7 hour shift; this is a pro for me because it helps maintain bodily fitness and health. -The interview process and job in general is very accessible and disability-friendly compared to many other places I have worked.
Svantaggi
-Nothing ever gets fixed until it is completely non-functional or dangerous or the big boss area manager is coming in to inspect the restaraunt. -You are often doing multiple jobs you are not paid for or qualified to do, like un-blocking the manhole that is filled with sewage and paper (and other stuff) that is causing plumbing issues in the toilets. Or having to bring in your own screwdrivers to try to fix broken cabinet doors and loose screws. -My restaraunt has no security personnel even though there are frequent incidences of antisocial behaviour, and occasionally threatening or physically and verbally aggressive behaviour either between customers or directed towards staff by customers. -Even though it's good enough, music playlist could be longer and more frequently updated.
