Monitise agreed to transfer UK Professional Services staff to IBM. In the business world this makes sense as it will increase Monitise’s ability to handle larger custom projects globally. However the working culture has now changed: 1. IBM has removed or is removing the team spirit - now it’s a blame culture. 2. No innovation. IBM has added addition steps in the process. What was once an agile environment is now waterfall. 3. IBM are now in control. All the monitise values are thrown out the window.

Very good vacation policy. 6 hours accrued per pay period starting day one plus about 12-13 company paid holidays a year. Nice office in San Francisco. Free snacks. Good IT department. Very smart and hard working coworkers. Decent pay.

Company seems to have fallen as quickly as it was growing initially. Major disconnect between management and staff. The lack of news from management regarding the direction of the company created an environment of uncertainty. With the large number of layoffs, the company started experiencing a large number of voluntary departures as remaining employees found other opportunities. There was a major disconnect between the UK and the US offices. Cultural and management styles were vastly different making it hard for teams to get things done with different objectives and constantly changing priorities.
