Receive a paycheck every two weeks

Svantaggi

Nextgen used to be a company that balanced profit with culture. That has 100% changed and it’s all about profit today. Employees have three times the work and none of the benefits. Employees celebrating 20 years of service don’t even get so much as a $5 gift card. Nextgen used to celebrate work anniversary’s, dedicated people who made this company what it is. The tiniest little plaque with years of service on it meant at least SOMETHING. Since Thoma Bravo acquisition, it’s 200% about nothing but profit. Even those are no longer shared with the people on the ground MAKING those profits…annual profit bonus has been discontinued. Along with cell phone and internet expense, bonus for billable utilization, Christmas gifts, etc. This is the reason 20+ employees with over 10yrs at Nextgen, have walked away from this company we no longer recognize. Thoma Bravi was the worst thing to ever happen to Nextgen Healthcare. They now have a business model of hiring brand new college grads with zero healthcare experience, running them thru a 6 week application training course and putting them out there in complex projects expecting then to do the same expert job an expert with 30 yrs healthcare operation and billing experience. Clients are being charged for these career babies to learn how to be business professionals - all because they can be hired at lower salaries ( that came directly from HR) it’s unethical and not appropriate. I’ve worked

Vantaggi

It is remote and pays enough if you have a second job.

Svantaggi

Your job is never safe here no matter how hard you work. They just laid off nearly 100 people, all of whom were extremely valuable assets to the company. They’ll do these on a YEARLY basis. Particularly after this last round, any shred of trust I had in leadership is gone. They announced it on a town hall and the CHRO said “guys it’s only 3%, stop freaking out” completely tone deaf to the fact that nearly 100 people’s lives just got flipped upside down. The expectation is to sell your soul to the company in return for nothing. Raises and bonuses are non-existent, even with excellent performance. In peak seasons where you are putting in extra hours and/or times where you are exceeding goals, you can expect maybe a kudos email from leadership and that’s it, no real recognition for the hard work you put in. Onboarding to your team regardless of department is also an incredibly disorganized and inefficient process. You can expect to spend more time struggling to access the software you need for your job than actually learning your job. There are minimal SOPs for operations, yet management will get mad when you do something “wrong” even though they themselves cannot even explain and show the “right” way.
