It has a promising program framework, which can be improved. The local staff in any country programs are talented and dedicated. The founders who came from peace activism movements are open and approachable.

Very cavalier such that sexual abuse is tolerated, particularly when done by Northern people with barely a sense of Southern solidarity . The inability of some expatriate staff to manage their sexual needs is glossed over, that it disrupts confidence and team-building among staff. There are often doubts rather than a positive attitude over local capacity. There is often a backlash for criticism, however positively communicated so people tend to keep quiet as they have jobs to secure.

Teammates did their best to support one another, and external community-based organization & partners were incredible to collaborate with.

The organization's culture is hostile to QTPOC and the white men and women in US and global leadership struggle to imagine a world without the violence of policing. QTPOC experienced harassment and bullying, both micro and macro aggressions, particularly from the white women. One employee said, "I have a fear of giving feedback to Black people." Leadership frequently micromanaged QTPOC at the organization, and white women in leadership were constantly trying to force QTPOC to collaborate with local police departments, even when that was dangerous to their safety, and unnecessary given the programming goals. A teammate who spoke up about the continued harm QTPOC experienced was fired as soon as there was a lull in programming. Leadership was aware that one of their direct reports was sexually harassing another direct report, and failed to intervene or take any course of action. The HR team was made aware of the ongoing harassment and discrimination, along with leadership, with both deciding to not take action to support team members who are impacted. To this day, the organization still nonconsensually uses photos of QTPOC without their consent, to advertise their programming and imply that the internal culture and values are grounded in justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion - when the reality is that they're not.
