Vantaggi

An incredible team of people doing the heavy lifting, despite being consistently under-resourced. Great central London great office location.

Svantaggi

Extremely old-fashioned approach to work-life balance and flexible hours. While flexibility is often promised during interviews, there’s little to no follow-through. The office vibe is flat. Most people seem burnt out and are just counting down the hours until they can leave. There’s no energy or enthusiasm, and it shows. Despite the strong push to keep people physically in the office, the environment itself is incredibly average: not enough toilets, constantly broken lifts, subpar coffee machine. Teams are consistently under-resourced, largely due to impulsive decision-making and a lack of genuine listening from senior leadership about what skills are actually needed in the teams (instead opting to move internal employees with no background in that speciality into these roles).

Vantaggi

Some great people. Salary was bang on average for my role. Hybrid work style

Svantaggi

My experience with Ohme was, frankly, one of the most dysfunctional and demoralising professional environments I’ve ever encountered. The culture felt toxic from the top down. Communication was virtually non-existent unless something had gone wrong, and even then it was handled with blame rather than leadership. Decisions were dictated, not discussed. There was no transparency, no clarity, and certainly plenty of micromanagement — plenty of orders, zero guidance. Strategy changed constantly without explanation, and accountability somehow always flowed downward, never upwards Training? Minimal to none. Respect? Even less. People were expected to “just figure it out,” then criticised for not magically knowing unwritten rules. I often felt looked down upon, I felt as though I was treated as a disposable resource rather than a professional. I was replaced with back-channel politics, favouritism, and what often felt like quiet backstabbing. Promises about growth, support, and progression rarely materialised. Instead, there were shifting goalposts and vague or questionable contractual clauses that seemed designed more to protect the company than treat staff fairly. Letting people go felt procedural and cold, sometimes relying on shady technicalities rather than honest conversations. Overall, it created a culture of anxiety rather than performance — where people spent more energy watching their backs than doing good work. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a healthy, respectful, or professionally supportive workplace.
