      In my experience, OptionsCity has been a great place to develop my career while maintaining a healthy work/life balance. Our problem domain, financial technology, can be both intellectually and computationally demanding, which keeps my day-to-day work interesting and ever-changing. Since OptionsCity is a relatively small company, employees have the opportunity to take initiative and be involved with many parts of the business.

      The downside of being a small company is often lack of structure and/or focus, and I believe that is occasionally true at OptionsCity. It means that the company is extremely agile, quickly moving to opportunities and adapting to the changing market, but that lack of structure and/or focus can be frustrating to employees.

      Thank you for writing your review. You paint an accurate picture of what working at OptionsCity entails. You point out a number of things we do well and some things that may still require improvement. I think that your suggestion around ensure that the entire team understand Why we are doing something, in addition to the What, is very good. The planning we do and communicate at the beginning of the year, the focus areas we set and publicize for each quarter, as well the various townhalls/huddles and internal updates are some steps we have taken to ensure engagement and transparency.       I've been to couple of different places as for internships and this experience was by far the best one. One can improve his career very fast by working here far from pressures and stresses thanks to their experienced and friendly managers - Super friendly culture where everyone wants to help each other. - Organized training/on boarding procedure - Continuous new ideas for cherishing employees and providing them with some extra rewards. - Fully equipped kitchen with all the snacks you can think of and the convenience of free lunch being delivered to your desk everyday. - Fridays fun activities.

      Thank you for writing a review on your recent internship experience. We are not a big organization and, therefore, do not have an extensive internship program. However, as you are attesting, when we do have students joining us for the summer, we take them through an intense on-boarding and training process and want to make sure they accomplish a number of goals, some of which are: - Gain in-depth knowledge of how the organization works. - Gain an advanced-level expertise in regards to Options pricing and modelling and risk. - Gain advanced-level expertise in the OptionsCity platforms. - Gain expert level expertise in Freeway and other OptionsCity API’s. - Expand Java knowledge in areas of multi-threaded programming and design patterns. - Come up and implement at least of one trading algorithm as a Metro Widget to be hosted on the CityStore (citystore.optionscity.com). - Complete a company and intern relevant capstone project. - Present the capstone project in front of a company wide audience.       1. Workday starts at 7:30 am and ends at 4:30pm with one hour lunch. All based on the honor system (pro). 2. Heavy male dominant company (is that a con? well if that bothers you yes, if not it neither a pro nor con). 3. I really can't think of any cons.

I am glad you included some of the recent developments like the move to our new Chicago office at Adams and Wacker and the YouEarnedIt Employee Recognition Program.
