Vantaggi
- Mostly remote work, seldom a need to be in-office - Fortune 500 company and they're not going broke anytime soon - Peers are generally congenial - Benefits are very adequate
Svantaggi
- Management does not care an iota about your well-being (ex: I once had a literal house disaster in progress when I took a call from my manager and her first response upon hearing that was, "So when can you get back online?") - There's a -lot- of behind the scenes posturing where people have kept their jobs/received promotions at the cost of undercutting others. - During an all-hands, the director mentioned how great our work was and unironically marveled that we do it for peanuts. That was five years ago and I never saw a raise after that. So expect to either get underpaid or never see a raise commensurate with your increasing workload.
