Vantaggi

The cause is and will always be the biggest pro, what we do is wonderful and important. The people used to be a big part of the organisation, I can honestly say I’ve never worked with such passionate, dedicated, professional, skilled people before joining. This is however slowly shifting. Also Mark is not CEO and has not been for some years.

Svantaggi

Bullying is rife, there have been shifts in the past few years and I have been shocked at what I have seen happen. We expose ourselves as a values led organisation- we are not. What we say and what we do are miles apart. In particular I have heard very senior people say some incredibly harmful things about equalities. And the outright bullying from senior management in some areas has become shocking. We have recently had a restructure, letting over 200 people go, during which time there has been lies, bullying, ignoring rules and laws, disregarding expertise, mocking and belittling. When I found out my job was safe I felt relief but what I have watched unfold here has made me wish I was one of the 200.

Vantaggi

working with people who really care about the work and the mission; mostly remote work

Svantaggi

Oxfam America's senior leadership team has presided over three consecutive years of layoffs with little evidence of accountability or learning at the executive level. Despite repeated rhetoric about fairness and equity, leadership decisions consistently undermine those stated values. New initiatives are rolled out frequently, only to be quietly dropped, creating instability, confusion, and deep skepticism among staff. Directors are routinely excluded from key strategic discussions, yet are expected to deliver decisions to their teams with no meaningful context, rationale, or ability to answer questions. The CEO appears insulated from the day to day realities of the organization, reinforcing a growing disconnect between leadership and staff. As a result, employees are chronically overworked, morale continues to erode, and trust in senior leadership has been significantly damaged by unmet commitments and constantly shifting priorities.
