We take this feedback very seriously. Culture, diversity and inclusion are core focuses for the business so we are saddened to hear this. We are in the process of anonymously surveying feelings on company culture and this review does conflict with internal opinion. Below, we address some of the points raised in this review. Gender Opportunity We agree that the gender ratio in our sales department is not acceptable and we are actively working to improve it. That said, we promote entirely based on merit and regardless of gender, our leadership team ratio is testament to this. As of August 12th, our gender ratios by department are as follows: - Sales and Business Development: 7.1% female - Product and Engineering: 30% female - Customer Success: 100% female - Leadership Team: 44.4% female We encourage female candidates to apply for roles externally and internally, less than 20% of applicants for roles in sales and engineering are female. We actively engage with bodies that support women in tech and are always open to feedback and collaboration on how to do better. Our maternity policy is one example of how we are ensuring Particular Audience is a top choice place to work for women in tech, nurturing long-term careers and life balance. Training and Work Arrangements Guidance on how we measure performance is transparent and regularly communicated. Our team members are assessed on their overall attitude, their individual performance metrics, their participation within the team, and their potential to grow at PA. We are always formalising training resources and every entry level joiner is paired up with a buddy who has a financial incentive to train their mentee to the best of their ability. That said, we are a startup and expect a high degree of autonomy, curiosity and a self-starter mentality. A flexible work structure is in place on a role-specific basis throughout the company. We've maintained safe working conditions throughout COVID and team members came back into the office in line with government guidance. We welcome further conversation on culture and diversity. The majority of the team is extremely supportive and friendly. A close global network that works hard to boost the company in the right direction. The career trajectory from this role is promising with a heap of transferable skills gained.

CEO is extremely driven to promote the company, however he consistently utilizes passive aggressive language and unnecessarily technical phrases. Little to no training was provided, with me being thrown into the deep end within the first week and then being belittled for not performing to a certain level. When you don’t understand what he is talking about and ask him to explain himself better, he insults you and makes you feel lesser. He constantly asks you to work outside of hours and jokes how you shouldn’t have a normal life working at PA and the company is your life. As someone with a commitment to an appropriate work-life balance, this got on my nerves. As a bonus, he would micro manage every task and if you didn’t hit your quota for the month, he would take jabs at you as if to infer your job is constantly at risk. This was worse in my case, as I was situated on the desk next to him, giving me very little breathing room and feeling consistently under pressure.

We are sorry to hear that aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations. Particular Audience is a fast-moving business, and roles in a new office involve pace, ambiguity, and direct exposure to senior leadership. That environment can create strong learning opportunities, but it is not the right fit for everyone. For future candidates, we aim to be clear: roles at Particular Audience offer significant access, responsibility, and learning, but they also require resilience, ownership, and comfort with direct feedback. That said, feedback about communication, onboarding, and management style is important. We take it seriously and will reflect on where expectations, training, and support could have been clearer from the outset.
