If you are a male construction worker and you kowtow appropriately, you will be given overwhelming opportunities, responsibilities above your pay grade, all the overtime you can handle and complete autonomy anytime you mess up. Old boys club in BC. No interest in following any health & safety or labour law in BC. If you are female working on one of the projects in BC, you will be constantly undermined, completely ignored, laughed off for suggesting the company follow the law and ultimately fired, especially if you are intelligent, have integrity and are really good at your job. You will be bullied by and talked down to by senior management.
